Send custom policy violation notification via Gmail
Polymer enables you to customize where and how you receive policy violation notifications via webhooks. Learn how to use a Zapier webhook to send custom policy violation notification emails to your data security team.
- Sign in to your Zapier account.
- Click + Create Zap in the left-hand menu.
- In 1. Trigger, select Webhooks by Zapier.
- In the Choose app & event section, select Catch Hook in the Event dropdown.
- Click Continue.
- In the Set up trigger section, leave the text field blank and click Continue.
- In the Test trigger section, copy the webhook URL and leave the application tab or window open.
- In a new tab or window, sign in to your Polymer account.
- Select Connections in the left-hand menu.
- Under Integrated Connections, find the integration for which you want to establish a webhook and click Settings to the right of its name.
- Select Monitoring in the nested left-hand menu.
- Paste the Zapier webhook URL in the blank field next to Webhook.
- Click Send Test Notification.
- Return to your open Zapier tab or window and click Test trigger.
- If the test is successful, you should receive a confirmation message. Click Continue.
Note: It may take a few minutes for Zapier to receive Polymer’s test notification. If your test does not work, wait and click Test trigger again after a few minutes. - In 2. Action, select Gmail.
- In the Choose app & event section, select Send Email from the Event dropdown.
- Click Continue.
- In Choose account, select a connected Gmail account from the Gmail account dropdown.
- Click Continue.
- In the Set up action section, enter information into the To, Cc, Bcc, From, From Name, and Reply To fields as desired for your policy violation notification emails.
- In the Set up action section, enter an email subject line in the Subject field. You can insert custom Polymer data as desired for your policy violation notification emails.

- Click Continue.
- In the Test action section, click Test action. Leave the application tab or window open.
- In a new tab or window, sign in to the Gmail account to which you sent the policy violation notification.
- Locate the test email you sent and review the email subject line and contents.
- Return to your open Zapier tab or window, and repeat steps 21-27 as needed to further update and customize your policy violation notification emails.
- When the policy violation notification email is triggering as desired, in the Test action section click Publish Zap.
